Awesome work, families! So far this month, we have maintained 90% or higher schoolwide attendance every day! This is definitely something worth celebrating! 

Each month, all families with 90% or higher attendance will have their names entered into a drawing. One lucky family will be recognized at our monthly Tiger Assembly and receive a Family Night Basket filled with snacks, games, and a gift card! We love celebrating our families for making attendance a priority!

Small-group instruction is a key part of our students’ everyday learning in math and reading. Each day, students receive targeted instruction and support based on their individual learning needs. This may include small groups of 2–5 students, skills-based groups, or additional classroom support in our upper grades.

Our amazing instructional assistants play an important role in making this possible by working alongside our teachers to provide students with targeted support each day! (Pictured to the right: Mrs. Nordmo working with Ms. Beshay’s students during small-group math instruction.)

A huge thank you to all of our families who attended Open House, visited the Resource Fair, enjoyed dinner, and supported our Kona Ice fundraiser! It was wonderful to see so many of our families together as we celebrated the start of a new school year. Thank you for being part of such a fun evening!

We are excited to partner with Linn Benton Lincoln ESD and WestEd for a Student Literacy Shadow Day on October 7th.

On this day, our education partners and members of our school team will spend time learning alongside our students as they move through portions of their regular school day. Our goal is to better understand how students experience literacy throughout the day, including during classroom instruction, small groups, interventions, and other learning settings.

Students will participate in their regular school day, and teachers and staff will continue to provide instruction as usual. Observers will simply follow along and take notes about things such as instructional routines, language, texts, skills, and how learning connects across different settings.

The focus of the day is on the student learning experience and is not an evaluation of teachers, staff, or individual students. Student names will not be included in observation documents, and information gathered will be used only to identify broader school- or system-level themes.

Following the Student Literacy Shadow Day, our team will reflect on what we learned and consider ways we can continue strengthening and connecting literacy instruction across our school.
